Six NTC juniors represented the Club at the Sandwell Children’s Triathlon on 24 June and NTC Junior Coach Fiona Ridley joined them at the event as Race Technical Official.
The Youths went off first in a combined girls/boys wave and provided the closest finish of the day in the boys category.
After a check and recheck of the chip timing recordings NTC’s Lee-J Watson was given joint first – his time being exactly the same as an athlete from Wales down to one hundredth of a second.
Third to finish overall and taking the girls winning trophy was Eden Schiller. Harrison Lee just missed out on a podium finish and was fourth boy to cross the line.
NTC’s other three representatives all raced in the TS2 category. The girls wave went first. Lucy Donnelly produced a very impressive performance to finish fifth. Robyn Schiller chased home in 12th. For the boys, Eammon Clowes continued his series of strong results finishing 5th.
The NTC youngsters all showed ability and determination, some competing open water for the first time. Well done to all the juniors that raced. Big thanks to Fiona for officiating.
