On a very sunny Saturday 8 July a small but strong group of juniors took on the Shipston upon Stour dip and dash.
First off was Jessica Walker in the Ts2 girls event. Jess was determined to use all her hard work in practice to improve her race day technique, this she did by performing perfect tumble turns for every length of her swim event, she then went on to put in a strong finish to her run and managed a well earned 17th place with a time of 11:29.
Next it was the turn of Eammon Clowes in the Ts2 boys event. Eammon was off in the second wave of this race so he knew the result would be unclear until all competitors had finished, with this in mind he put in strong performance that kept him in touch of the pace in the swim, a good transition meant he was able to gain another place, before securing his first top spot with a very strong run and finishing with a time of 9:16.
Finally it was the turn of Harrison Lee in the youth event. Harrison is in a very strong position in the West Midlands series and was keen to make sure he kept up his current form. Harrison managed to keep his closet rival within his sights as they left the pool and through transition. It was not long before he had caught him up and by the third lap of three Harrison had a commanding lead which no one was going to close down even with a slight slip as he approached the finish line Harrison managed to cruise to a comfortable victory with a time of 20:31.
