Here are the first nominations for NTC’s club awards, as of 15 October. Remember you have until 22 October to make your nominations.
Performance of the year – female
Amanda qualified for the UCI World Age Group Championships in Varese, Italy, and she took world duathlon silver for her age group in Odense, Denmark.
Eden won her age category and the age category above hers at the European Triathlon Union championships in Glasgow in the summer. She also qualifyied for the Super League.
Performance of the year – male
James appeared to have a good swim in the ETU Triathlon Championship in Glasgow in August 2018 and came out of T1 in a strong position. Unfortunately he then suffered a puncture reasonably early on in the bike leg. In sprint distance racing a puncture signals the end of any competitive hopes as seconds really do matter. However, James continued on and managed to complete the race.
This race meant a great deal to him and he had dedicated many hours to his training and race preparation. As a young athlete this race must have represented huge pressure and he demonstrated a great deal of maturity, integrity of character and determination to continue and complete the race facing, what have must been, a great deal of disappointment.
Most improved member
Fraser improved his time at the Castle Series triathlon at Cholmondley by over 11 minutes this year, compared to 2017.
Holly was a non swimmer at the start of this year but by the end of year had competed in three sprint triathlons.
Michelle has really stamped her mark on this sport with some great age group and overall results.
Mark just gets better and faster in all three disciplines.

Lisa is nominated for her constant support over a number of years at Astbury Mere on Thursday nights in the summer. She collects and issues the bands and she transports and stores equipment for the lake swim.
